Low-Cost Health Insurance for Brooklyn Businesses Brooklyn HealthWorks, run by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, provides subsidized insurance in partnership with GHI, a leading insurance provider in New York. Through HealthWorks, employees can select from two separate levels of coverage starting at $221/month for a single employee and $651/month for a family. HealthPass offers over 30 different plans from 5 leading carriers: GHI, Health Net, HIP, Horizon Healthcare, and Perfect Health. The unique structure of HealthPass allows employees to select the level of coverage they need, with Health Savings Plans starting at $152/month with a high deductible and more comprehensive coverage plans starting at $265/month for a single employee. Both programs do not require an employer contribution, and can be combined with an IRS program that allows employees to pay for coverage pre-tax. Both HealthPass and Brooklyn HealthWorks can be offered to full time and part time employees working over 20hrs/week. Additionally, freelance workers can also be covered under both programs.
